Happy Birthday Sydney!

Today we celebarated Sydney's 9th birthday. We had Derrick & Monica and their kids over for dinner and then had cake and ice cream. (I left Ted in charge of pictures so what you see is what we got)
In honor of Sydney's birthday I thought I would share 9 things about her:
1. Sydney loves animals. If she had her way we would have a new pet every week.
2. Sydney is a good student. I'm so grateful that she likes school.
3. Sydney loves swimming.
4. Sydney is very independent. Probably out of necessity-but she can entertain herself for hours.
5. Sydney loves stuffed animals. The storage bin is always overflowing.
6. Sydney loves to dance. She is taking dance lessons--but her favorite is to just put in a CD and make up something.
7. Sydney loves her nephews and niece. She looks forward to Fridays each week because she get to go play with them.
8. Sydney is always willing to help.
9. Sydney is always up for an adventure...and I'm looking forward to many more in the future.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SYDNEY! WE LOVE YOU!

Disney On ICE - so cool!
Last Saturday I took Sydney to see Disney On Ice - 100 years of magic - with my sister, her daughters, and her three grandkids. It was awesome. They did short clips from all of the Diney stories...
the photos are just various scenes from the show (sorry it's not a fancy slide show or something)

We decided to stay overnight at Kim's on Friday and Saturday so we could get a little shopping done...and that was all we got done, a little.
It was a great weekend. Thanks Kim for the great hospitality! We need to do it more often especially now that I know how to get to your apartment and that there is a Starbucks within 5 minutes that stays open late!

Find a penney-pick it up-all day long you'll have good luck!
So you have probably seen my post about the 12 days of Tip Junkie where they have 2 drawings each day for some really awesome prizes. Well I won one of the prizes for the Day 3 drawing. {yeah!}
This morning Sydney found a penney and on the way to school she wanted to play heads or tails. Then it turned into good luck/bad luck and I told her I didn't want to play that game becuase we are heading out of town tonight and we cannot have any bad luck. So she keeps asking and finally I choose heads and it is heads-so she says "see I knew it would be good luck" Thanks Sydney...I guess it was good luck.
I love the Tip Junkie site. Thanks to Laurie aka Tip Junkie for all her hard work! I can't wait to get my prize.

Thankful

I love the new "Thankful" banner that I have above our fireplace and it has inspired me to do a gratitude post. So here goes in no particular order...
1. I am THANKFUL for my calling in RS. It has inspired me to get back into crafts (the banner is one of our Super Saturday projects). I have been busy crafting Christmas presents and am really excited to give them away this year.
2. I am THANKFUL for my family. Each and every one of you! Today I was contacted by a cousin that I have not seen or heard from for 20+ years and it has caused me to stop and think about family...and I think I need to do a better job about staying in touch with everyone.
3. I am THANKFUL for my job. Yes this time of year is crazy for us, but I really enjoy the work that I do. I am also THANKFUL that we have a very dependable part-time co-worker this tax season. It has made this year much less stressful.
4. I am THANKFUL for my friends. I love that they are willing to listen when I need someone to talk to. We are all very busy women and I love that we can relate on so many levels.
5. I am THANKFUL that I have had the opportunity to serve as ATV Club and Chamber secretary and I am even more THANKFUL that come December someone else will have this opportunity!

PS I finally put my camera back in my purse so hopefully I will have more pictures to share sometime soon.

Life after Super Saturday...
Is there such a thing? My house is still a mess, and calls are still coming in...but there is light at the end of the tunnel!
~sorry there are no pictures...I forgot my camera
Our Super Saturday was held last Saturday and it was an amazing day. I could not have survived this even without the help of so many wonderful friends & family.
I have been planning this events for months and everytime I see Monica I have to get her opinion of the latest project. I don't know what we talk about now.
I have made numerous shopping trips many of which I have dragged Kim (niece) with me on, and last week I called her several times to go pick up this or that. She spend all Friday afternoon chasing all over the Salt Lake Valley picking up things for me.
On Friday night we went to the church to set up the tables and Ted and Jason (he works part time for us at the shop) spent about 2 hours hauling stuff from my house to the church.
Saturday morning we started at 9 a.m. and I left the building at about 5:30 p.m. I had two other committee members (Cheryl & Liz) who were amazing. Liz had surgery on Monday and was there Friday & Saturday working.
I knew that I would need all the help I could find, so who do I turn to...my family of course. Monica (daughter-in-law) was going to help me with one wood project..but stayed all day and helped with every project. Vicki (sister) made her famous scones and spent 2 hours outisde cooking them in a snow storm. Brandy (niece) also helped cook scones and stayed after helping to clean up.
I really feel that we had a very succesful event, but I feel even more blessed to know that I have such great friends and family that will support me. I only hope that I will be able to return the favor some day.
