Friday night was anything but quiet at the Dearden house. We had 8 girl scouts over for a backyard camp.
We started out the evening setting up tents on the lawn. We barbequed hamburgers and hot dogs. We then made some really cute pillows (thinking we could use them to get some sleep later that night). Our pillow project took longer than we planned, so we managed to burn our tin-foil desserts.
We have an awesome co-leader, Amanda who had games and songs to keep the girls entertained. The girls' favorite was night at the musuem. Before going to bed, we helped the girls find the big dipper and the north star. It was the perfect night for camping out.
In the morning we made breakfast, and did some fun crafts. It was really hot by about 9 in the morning, so we moved camp inside to enjoy the air conditioning. After a snack we cleaned up and the girls left for home, leaving their leader exhausted...but she wasn't the only one. Saturday afternoon it got really quiet so I went to look for Sydney. I found her curled up in her dad's recliner sound asleep.
Sometimes I ask myself why I want to do this, but then when I see how much fun the girls are having while learning some great skills, I know why.

You are WAY more patient than I could ever be! I'm glad the girls had fun, at least it looked like they did!
