Whew! What we don't do for our kids. I have to say that taking 11 girl scouts to the Zoo was one of the most challenging and rewarding experiences. The weather was perfect and all the girls were so excited by all the animals we saw.
As we were leaving, I asked each of them what their favorite part of the day was and the results were: #1 The new baby giraffe - #2 The White Alligator - #3 The Bird Show
In Girl Scouts they have the "Buddy System" to help keep the girls safe, and honestly I said "Where's your buddy?" at least 100 times during our trip.
We take Sydney to the Zoo a couple of times a year, so to her it's just something we do, but there were several girls in our troop who had never been. Our troop worked very hard this spring with cookie sales and cookie booths and were able to sell over 2500 boxes of cookies. It has been very rewarding to see the girls set a goal, work hard to achieve their goal, and then to get to participate in the reward with them.
I have to say "Thanks" to our co-leaders, Amanada and Sandy, without them Trrop # 2080 would not be possible.

Wow, you survived the 2 big weekends in a row, Are you taking this next one off? It sounds like the girls had fun.
I never even thought of you guys when I was writing my lateness rant, I promise!
